The next step after you finished AFF and reached Solo Certification is the United States Parachute Association (USPA) A-License. During the A-License Training Program, you will learn the skills necessary to jump with other people and you will learn how to pack your own main parachute. The jumps are broken into six skill sets that need to be mastered prior to the A-License check dive.
Throughout the program, you are encouraged to make “Unsupervised Solo Freefall Jumps” to practice your skills and become more proficient in the air. These jumps also help you reach the minimum of 25 skydives necessary to apply for the A-License.
The objective of the “A” License course is to help you achieve your goal of becoming a fully licensed skydiver. To advance past AFF status and earn an “A” License, you must complete 25 freefall jumps. All student jumps are from 13,000’, except for one clear and pull jump.
Upon completion of this program, you will have your minimum 25 skydives and you will have completed all the requirements of the USPA ‘A’ License. Your license allows you to make solo or group skydives at any drop zone without supervision.
